Having waited to see what England’s fastest growing party was going to do in the London elections, as promised by the party leaders Tilbrook and Uncles. We were shocked to see the disaster that unfolded on nomination day!
In 2008 the EDP had a mayoral candidate in place well before nomination day.
In 2012 Robin Tilbrook, was selected a few weeks before nomination day but was a no-show on the day.
In 2008 the EDP had 14 candidates in the 14 constituencies!
In 2012 the EDP had 1 candidate in the 14 constituencies!
In 2008 the EDP had 24 candidates for the 11 London-wide seats!
In 2012 the EDP had 8 candidates for the 11 London-wide seats!
So while the EDP’s London campaign was running into the iceberg, with Mr Tilbrook failing to get 330 signatures and the EDP failing to find enough money for more thae 1 candidate for the 24 seats, what were the 5 main EDP Bloggers putting on their sites?
Robin Tilbrook: A cut and paste about housing in England!
Steve Uncles: How UKIP will fail in the London elections!
Chris Beverley: A meeting with a handful of members in Barnsley!
John Edwards: A list of coffee shops in Eastleigh!
Eddy Butler: A short history lesson on India!
Not one of them has yet mentioned Tilbrook, London, elections, mayor in the same sentence!
In the very active, English Democrat supporting Blog ‘English Passport’, English Democrat candidate Steve Uncles stole a head start in the ‘April Fool’ jokes race by claiming that Independent mayoral hopeful Siobhan Benita is supporting the English Democrat list. A cursory glance at the political pedigree and internet actions of some on that list throws this claim into doubt.
Get in there quick if you want to see the joke, it may not be there long; we are not 100%sure of the legality of the statement!
