Salford By-Election, another EDP No-Show!

Local by-election in Salford 20th June 2013.

Salford would seem to be yet another of the EDPs former strongholds that has succumbed to the rot that appears to be permeating the party.

In the recent past the EDP has been well represented in elections in Salford.
The EDPs first showing in Salford was in the local election of May 2006 when its solo candidate took almost 8% of the vote.

In the 2010 General Election EDP candidate, Stephen Morris, attracted 621 votes, 1.5%, in the Salford & Eccles constituency.

The party also had two candidates in the local election that year, one of whom won just short of10%.
In 2011 the EDP stood three candidates in the May local elections and a further one in a March by-election.

In May 2012 the EDP candidate gained 1616 votes, 3.6% of the total in the first round, in the Mayoral election.

Also on the same day in May 2012 the party stood four candidates for the Salford Council elections, they each averaged around the 5% mark.

Elections for the ‘new’ Police & Crime Commissioners took place in November 2012 and the EDP was poised to field a candidate in the Greater Manchester Authority. Unfortunately the EDPs Michael Felse withdrew shortly before nominations closed and it was too late to find a replacement.

Incidentally, Micheal Felse is standing in the forthcoming Borough election as an Independent but the EDP is conspicuous by its absence!

What has happened to Messrs Depares and Whitelegg who have stood four and three times respectively in Salford?

Will UKIP be the New English nationalism?

An interesting article from the Guardian.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/may/13/ukip-rise-more-than-blip

“In England, the de facto nationalist party is Ukip, proudly pitched on the populist right…………………….

That their rise is an almost uniquely English story is self-evident: they currently score 23% in England, but only 2% and 6% respectively in Scotland and Wales. Their surge is also driven by men rather than women, by a ratio of nearly 2:1.”

‘Peter Davies’ by Robin Tilbrook.

Mr Tilbrook, “As I am often asked about what happened with Peter Davies I will set it out here and then leave it. Peter was our party’s first great electoral success and….”
The rest can be found here;

http://robintilbrook.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/peter-davies-sic-transit-gloria-mundi.html

Recently Mr Tilbrook seems to have found an old Latin phrase book and has taken to quote and mis-translate some well-known ones.

His subtitle to the Peter Davies article seems to be a code explaining a mystery from the Kent County elections last week.

In Tonbridge and Malling there are six electoral divisions, Steve Uncles, as election agent ‘found’ five ‘candidates’ for the EDP. These included ‘Anna Cleves, Liz Uncles, Steves Uncle and Helen Stevens’. From the day that the nominations were published it has puzzled many, including England Watch, why there was one, Tonbridge, missing?

Thanks to Mr Tilbrook we now have the answer,

“Sic transit Gloria Mundi”.

Yes the EDP prospective candidate, Gloria Mundi, threw up in the back of the van and was too late to hand in her nomination!

Sorted!

England Watch has been ‘savaged’ by ‘English Passport’.

England Watch has been ‘savaged’ by ‘English Passport’ over its item on the English People’s Party election result.

From English Passport
There is a completely incompetent buffoon who claims “to know” about English Nationalist politics, and posts idiotic information on his blog “England Watch”
His/Her main argument is that the English Democrats are “doing” English Nationalism in the wrong way, with the wrong policies, with wrong tactics and with the wrong personalities.
The owner of “England Watch” holds up the English Peoples Party, as the solution to the “wrong way” that the English Democrats go about politics – the English Peoples Party, who are no doubt doing things “the right way” put up ONE candidate.
So when (like the English Democrats) the English People’s Party vote gets taken apart, due to UKIP standing against them with Wall to Wall UKIP TV coverge, the owner of the “England Watch” is surprised with the result
It just sums up the thinking and ignorance of the cretin who writes for England Watch, completely no idea, no strategy, no common sense.
(The candidate who stood up for England with the English Peoples Party deserves credit)

Four points.
We would never, never use the word personalities in reference to the EDP.
The item did not say that any party has the solution.
No ‘surprise was mentioned or indicated, simply an opinion as to the possible feelings of the candidate.
Please, please, please use a grammar and spell check!

We apologise for not posting this sooner but we were waiting to see if anyone from the EDP posted them. They haven’t so we will.

Please be aware that due to the fact that England Watch lists are frequently posted on Mr Uncles Blog, without any acknowledgement that they are ours, we now include a few small errors to enable us to correctly identify what has been taken. These errors in no-way invalidate the figures and will be corrected shortly.

English Democrat’s BNP intake starts to move up the ladder!

Kent has always been at the forefront of everything that the EDP has done.

The first EDP councillors, courtesy of a merger with the New England Party.

Constantly the county with the highest number of candidates, though not all of them real.

It has now made history for another reason; Kent becomes the first English shire where the EDP has appointed a County Chairman from their BNP intake.

Claudia Bryan, AKA Claudia Dalgleish, was once the darling of the BNP circuit and a close confidant of Nick Griffin.

There have been other ex-BNP members appointed to chairmanships at branch level, Chris Beverley in Leeds is the most notable though others in Southend, Broxtowe etc but it is thought to be the first time that one of that group has been appointed as a county chair.

The reason that she has been appointed, presumably an election will take place soon, is her predecessor, Michael Walters, has resigned from the post. We understand that he has also resigned from the EDP and has applied to join the Conservative Party; if true he will be joining a number of his former EDP Medway branch colleagues including a councillor.

Mr Walters has not yet made his reasons for resigning public but it is no secret that he is non-too-pleased at having to answer Police questions regarding Steve Uncles ‘dodgy’ candidates, two of whom were listed as living with him. There have also been a number of ‘non-too-friendly’ spats on their facebook pages.

All will be revealed in due course!

EDP ‘NON-County’ Results on 2nd May 2013.

In addition to the Doncaster Mayoral election and 37 county council contests in England the EDP also stood in 4 By-elections in Northamptonshire. The 3 candidates in these were also county candidates on the same day.
The results are;
Kettering Borough Council, Avondale Grange ward.
Derek Hilling, EDP….52….5.4%….4th out of 5.

Kettering Borough Council, Welland ward.
Kevin Sills, EDP….14…1.4%….5th out of 5.

Wellingborough Borough Council, Redwell West ward
Rob Walker, EDP….35….4.0%….4th out of 4.

Rothwell Town Council, Tresham ward. (Kettering)
Kevin Sills, EDP….15…1.6%….5th out of 5.

The result in Welland ward, whilst not being the smallest percentage of the vote, has the lowest number of votes of any EDP contest on the day!
