Where the English National Candidates are standing.

On paper there are three English nationalist parties standing in today’s elections.

The party with the largest number of candidates is the English Democrats Party.
They have 37, this is the lowest number of candidates the party has fielded for about eight years.

Some of the candidates in Kent are the subject of a Police investigation and may not actually exist!

The New England Party is fielding two candidates in Kent, as the party’s South East Chairman, Steve Uncles says, ‘this is an experiment! Both of the candidates are listed as EDP on his Blog and the New England Party merged with the EDP in 2007.

It is safe to say that the NEP is an EDP sock-puppet party!

The candidates are
Kent…Herne Bay.. Mike Tibby
Kent…Herne Bay.. Nathan King

Why oh why do micro-parties persist in putting more than one candidate in multi-member divisions? If they had have stood in different divisions it would have doubled the number of people able to vote NEP.
Both of these candidates really exist.

The third party standing is the English People’s Party; it has just the one candidate

Lincolnshire…Spalding West.. Adam McVeigh

Of the 40 English nationalist candidates standing today he seems to be the only one to have worked his patch, he is using his real name and he actually exists!

Of the other elections taking place tomorrow the one with the most outside interest is that for the Mayor of Doncaster.
David Allen is the EDP candidate for the post and tomorrow he is the only EDP candidate, at any level, north of Coventry.

As for results, we will know within the next 24 hours but shocks, such as the 2009 victory in Doncaster, are not expected. John Hayter may come second in Essex and Steve Clegg could do the same in Gravesham but that could be the extent of the ‘success’. Most of the other candidates, real and otherwise, will occuoy the lower places.

Adam McVeigh of the EPP deserves to do well but effort is not always rewarded at the ballot box.
