The EDP and the London Region Elections.

The EDP and the London Region Elections.

London has never been a good area for the English Democrats. Despite it being the capital of England it has never warmed to the EDP, 2014 is even worse than normal!

True, they do have a full slate of eight candidates for the European Elections in the Region but only two of then actually live in London, the Lead Candidate hails from Somerset.

EDP Candidates for the European elections in London.

1) Jenny Knight
2) Matthew Roberts
3) Maggi Young
4) Graham Clipperton
5) Gary Butler
6) Nick Capp
7) Louise Dutton
8) Natalie Smith

It should cause some concern to a party that claims to be THE nationalist party for England that from a total population of well over eight millions the EDP is unable to find 8 people willing to declare themselves as candidates.

The election agent for London is Steve Uncles, he is also Lead candidate for the South East Region, where he lives. This is another case of EDP members having to do multiple role in order to make the party look bigger.

It may be a small point but, is Mrs Louise Uncles ‘commonly-known-as’ Louise Dutton? Or are the rules different for European Elections?

Local Elections

On the same day as the E U elections those for the London Boroughs are also being held, almost 2,000 seats on 32 councils.

Local Election candidate.
Sutton. Wallington South.. David Jeffreys.

These councils last had fully contested elections in 2010 when the EDP put up 20 candidates, this year the EDP have just one (1) candidate, in Sutton. This is the parties worse showing ever.

Bexley, 2010, 11….2014, 0.
Greenwich, 2010, 1….2014, 0.
Lambeth, 2010. 6….2014, 0.
Southwalk, 2010. 1 …..2014, 0.
Westminster, 2010. 1….2014, 0.
Sutton, 2010. 0…..2014, 1

There we have the ‘proof’ of Mr Tilbrook’s ‘growing party’;

2010 there were 20 EDP candidates in the London local elections.
2014 there is just 1 EDP candidate in the London local elections.

The EDP in the North East Region.

The EDP in the North East Region.
The North East has always been THE worst area in the whole of England for the English Democrats. It has been describes as barren, though sterile may be a better word. That fact is made glaringly obvious by the elections this month.

True, they do have a full slate of three candidates for the European Elections;
1) Kevin Riddiough
2) Sam Kelly
3) John Lewis

Though tellingly none of these actually live in the region but are all from South Yorkshire.

Alan England is the election agent for the region; he also lives out of area, but a little nearer, residing in North Yorkshire.

As an example of how much the shrinking EDP has to stretch its resources in order to give the impression of a ‘national party one need look no further than this region.

In addition to being election agent for the North East, Alan England is also the EDPs lead candidate for the South West Region.

Kevin Riddiough is an even better example;
Election agent for the North West Region.
Election agent for Yorkshire and the Humber Region.
Lead candidate for the North East Region.
Candidate in the council elections in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

In the North East there are also local elections being held on the same day for a number of councils in the area.
The last time that these seats were contested was 2010, the EDP fielded just the one candidate, in 2014 they are unable to field any!

North Tyneside, 2010, 1. …2014, 0.

As will be seen from the rest of the articles England Watch will be posting for the Regions the EDP is far from being a ‘national’ party and in fact has but a few dozen active members.
